A thriller goes down in Morgantown as WVU suffers the 12th RD KO against the reigning Heavyweight Champ Baylor, 42-35. Just how good is this Baylor team??? So good that they barely missed a step with SO QB Austin Roland( 13/22 407 YDS 4 TD 1 INT) filling in for Fields. A barrage of pass rushers from the WVU defense put Roland on the turf 6 times, but also led to some big openings in the secondary. The Bears' super FR WR duo of Gay and Collins accounted for >280 YDS receiving.
The Baylor defense registered 10 TFL, but a persistent WVU ground attack still managed >250 YDS 3 TD, led by Knowles(84 YDS 1 TD), Tucker(80 YDS) and Armstrong(52 YDS 1 TD.) Smith spread the ball around going 17/27 206 YDS 2 TD 1 INT. SO FS Buster Clark led the Mountaineer defense with 9 TCK 2 SK. On the other side, Baylor SO FS Steven Green recorded 16 TCK. The #23 Mountaineers finish their regular season slate at 8-4 and it looks they could be headed to another CCG rematch against the undefeated Bears.
