South Carolina wins @ Vandy 44-41 on a FG with 17 seconds left, and a game sealing pick with zeros on the clock.
Not much defense was played in this game, as you might be able to tell from the score. QB Kevin Quincy made his return to action with 473 yards (18/34) and 3 TDs. Nathaniel Ledesma also threw one pass, and that was a 20 yd TD (good for a passer rating of 598.0 lol). WR Aaron Quincy reeled in 6 catches for a whopping 189 yards, and 2 TDs. Not to be ignored, the run game was also solid, headed by running QB Carlos Jones who ran 9 times for 88 yds and a TD.
The defense needed work though, despite 2 picks from CB James Ragland and FS Jason Brown. Vandy had a very pass-heavy game, with QB Ambrose Lockwood passing for 517 yards (21/45) and 5 TDs and 2 INT. They ran the ball just 13 times.
The Gamecocks welcome two commits this week. 4* WR George Pitt is a SC native with fantastic speed and great hands on a 6'4 207 lb frame. He is ranked #277 and showed significant interest in the program from early in the scouting season. 3* SS Billy Swenson is the #1304 prospect from Portland, OR and will travel to the East Coast, bringing with him great strength and tackling ability in a linebacker's body.
The Gamecocks face #9 Georgia next week. That will be a tough one.
